William Joseph Durham
A NAACP Civil Rights Attorney, from Texas, challenged the political infrastructure designed for generational indentured servitude, slavery, and implementation of ‘Manifest Destiny’ oppressive policies. His contribution is immeasurable in transforming Texas inclusion policies for Colored, Negro, Afro-Indigenous Americans, and Latino Americans (such as denoted in regards to all those named above who are original to the North American Landmass, forcibly trafficked to the North American Landmass and their direct descendants). “Chasing Durham” will explore places where historical landmarks once stood in commemoration of a movement that William Joseph Durham forged based on civil liberties in the draconian areas of education, voting rights, wages, and equal access. The goal of “Chasing Durham” is to explore the narrative of William Joseph Durham being chased by burning fires, lynching mobs, scalping Rangers, Anglo-Texan militias that sought to silence him and the message of the suffering masses with fear while facing and fighting against fascism during WWII. On the contrary, he courageously chased and faced injustice by utilizing the constitutionally protected laws and statutes within the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches of the United States and the Republic of Texas. Let us explore the fullness of the narrative in focus that surrounds civil liberties that implement rights protected by the institutional foundations of the United States and its prescribed Constitutional Laws.
